Estrace Action Mechanism

Estrace contain estradiol which enters cytoplasm and interacts with cytoplasmic target cell receptors (ERα and ERβ). Estrace enters nucleus of target cell and regulate gene transcription and translation to produce specific proteins that express effect of estradiol on target cell.

Estrace Dosage

Take Estrace as recommended by your health care professional as its dosage depends upon your clinical condition and medical history. Usual Estrace dosage in adults suffering from moderate to severe menopausal symptoms is 1-2 mg per day with cyclic mode of administration (21 days on and 7 days off).

Estrace Precaution

Avoid Estrace if you are alcoholic or smoker or consume illegal drugs as they may react with each other and cause serious health complications.

Do not take Estrace if you are pregnant or breast-feeding or suffer with hypotension or hypertension, liver or kidney diseases, blood clots, stroke and heart ailments.

Avoid Estrace if you are allergic to estrogens or other medications containing estrogen.

Estrace Side Effects

Common side effects of Estrace include nausea or vomiting, bloating, stomach cramps, breast pain and tenderness or swelling, freckles or darkening of face, vaginal itching or discharge and changes in your menstrual periods.

Serious side effects of Estrace include sudden or severe headache, confusion; vision, speech, or balance problems, rapid breathing, pain or swelling of legs, tiredness or restlessness, sudden numbness or weakness, lump in your breast, loss of appetite, increased thirst, pain in arm or shoulder or jaundice.
