Diflucan Action Mechanism
Diflucan works by inhibiting synthesis of ergosterol (present in cell wall of yeast and other fungi), thereby maintaining its effect and causing cell death. Diflucan is also found to inhibit transformation of blastospores into invasive mycelial form in Candida albicans.
